Water Reflection Models 

All files required for creating new golf courses in the ProX system can be made from a standard graphics tool such as PhotoShop except water pond reflections.

Water reflections in ProX require a 3d studio type reflect model made with a professional 3d modeling tool such as 3dStudioMax.

As most people won't have such a tool , I have made a collection of pre-made ponds complete with 3d reflection models and 3d pond beds

for you to download and use.

How to use

In each download zip file there are numerous different ponds with 3 files associated to each water pond.

1. A bitmap (.bmp) image file.

2. A 3d reflect model (.3ds file).

3. A reflect model position file (.ggs).

The pond image file should be used to copy and paste the pond into your surfaceObjects hole layout image.

In your graphics tool, open your surfaceObjects file and then all the pond images from the downloaded pond collection.

Choose the appropriate pond, use the select wand to select just the blue area and then copy/paste into your

surfaceObjects file at the desired position.

You may resize and rotate the image to your requirements but not change it's basic shape.

You then need to copy the associated reflect model and position file to the course hole folder.

These files have the same name content as the image file.

for example: AuReflectModelZ5-1.bmp has AuReflectModelZ5-1.3ds and AuReflectModelZ5-1Pos. associated with it.

These files must also adhere to the standard naming convention so change

the first 2 characters in the name (ie Au here) to the first 2 characters of the name of your course in both the .3ds and Pos files.

When finished, start ProX and load the hole. Go into the Reflection model positioning mode (ctrl/R) and position and size the reflect model appropriately.
